What’s up yall. They are a lot of really interesting things going on right now. Tons of cool stuff in the works. Thinking about the past, present and future has lead me to start rethinking the direction of Makings Of a Man. Stick around for updates.
Peace,
Lubeen
Man, I’ve learned a whole lot over the past several months. I’m not talking about academics either (especially since most of that is simply me remembering things long enough to regurgitate on a test). So far, this year has been a HUGE one for me as an artist. I’ve done several shows (some bigger than others), expanded my network (not ready to use the term “fan base” yet), and am currently well on the way to completing my first mixtape. All of these were new experiences for me that I’ve welcomed with extremely open arms.
What was it that made all of these things possible? All I can do is attribute it to nothing more than hard work. I’m always writing, freestyling or rapping in the mirror; whatever I can do to improve my craft, I will. But from the inside looking out, it can sometimes be pretty difficult to see the fruits of your labor. To take it a step further, even if you feel like you’ve come a long way, it can be hard to gauge whether or not anyone else but you has noticed your growth. Truth be told, even if you don’t think people are watching and paying attention, they really are.
Sure it feels good to hear someone tell me my performance was dope, or my freestyle was live, or the beat I made knocks, but that’s nothing more than a complement on a snapshot of my ability. The most encouraging comment I’ve gotten since I started making music was my homie, somewhat of a musical big bro to me, called me and said “Yo Lube, you’ve come a long way from the kid who used to just freestyle and rhyme his name with shit. I’m proud of you lil bro.”
Simply knowing that people were really taking note of all of the effort I’ve put into my art, and the progress I’ve made has only motivated me to work even harder.
And Lord knows, the progression is only just beginning.

Lubeen - Fly Away … Here you go. This track is me trying to explain my relationship with music. Who knows what the future holds, it may, and already has, taken me places I never even imagined. What I do know is that regardless of where it takes me, I’ll never forget where I’m from.
Enjoy!
What’s going on?
I know Ive been quite quiet on tumblr for a few weeks. Things have pretty busy over here. I started working (almost done at this point). That’s really been eating up my time. Can’t complain though, I love my job and I’m finally getting paid for it, so it’s a win-win. Aside from that, I’ve been really trying to get bust with my music.
Things have been going well. I have a show tonight, another performance next week, and most likely another on the 31st. Needless to say im Quite excited. All I need is to get my funds up so I can really get to recording and share all this music with you.
I cant wait, I promise it’ll be more than worth listening to.
I Know it’s been a while since my last post, things have just been real crazy this past week. But now, I’m all done, finally home, and at last halfway through my college career.
Let’s get it.
Its finals time, so I’m on my endless grind
Buried so deep in my books, I can’t even see sunshine
ounces of espresso, redbull by can
drinking caffeine till I get shaky in the hands
So many stimulants coursing through my body,
The devil couldn’t stop me, so neither will Gulati
That’s why I’m taking notes till my pen runs out of ink
Running off so little sleep, that it even hurts to think…
Finals are the worst
Lubeen - Look at Me Now (Produced by Sinima Beats) … Here you go. I wrote this song as an introduction, or rather, a way for me to (re)introduce the man that I’ve become to everyone. The beat is crazy, and the energy is high. Comments are always welcome.

Time flies, huh?
In about 30 minutes it will be Easter, marking the end of Lent…
Translation: In about 30 minutes, I will be back on Facebook, Twitter and eating a Kit Kat Big Crunch for the first time in 40 days.
The Countdown Begins.
